Be Inspired and Inspire Others

ONE HUNDRED years ago, Eric Liddell became a global celebrity with a dramatic victory in the Paris 1924 Olympic Games. His triumph is re-told in the film Chariots of Fire, but there is more to his story . . .

On the 100th anniversary of his famous race, help others to discover what inspired Liddell and help them understand how they can run the race of their lives.

Order copies of this short booklet to give away to others during the Olympic and Paralympic Games 2024.

Why the Olympic Games?

During the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris, a global audience will watch as 10,500 athletes seek to earn a podium position and etch their name into Olympic and Paralympic Games history.

With a total of 3.05 billion unique TV viewers watching coverage of the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, it is safe to say that the Olympic Games remain the most loved sports event in the world.

The Olympic Games provide a unique opportunity to share the message of Christianity with friends, family, neighbours and colleagues. If we are to reach the world with the gospel, we must reach our world.

Who was Eric Liddell?

2024 marks the hundredth anniversary of the Olympic triumph of Eric Liddell, a man who, in every way, ran the race of life.

Liddell’s story, famously retold in the classic movie Chariots of Fire, focuses on his uncompromising desire to honour God in his running, unexpectedly winning the 400m Olympic gold medal and claiming the world record in the process.

With both the 1924 and 2024 Olympic Games taking place in Paris, this really is a unique opportunity.

Why this booklet?

We all run the race of our lives. It’s a race of unknown length and none of us knows when we will reach the finishing line.

This short booklet by J.John asks the reader three poignant questions:

What takes priority in our lives?
What controls how we live?
What price are we prepared to pay?

Written and designed to be given away during the Olympic and Paralympic Games, this is a booklet that is accessible to everyone, no matter where they are in their journey of faith.

A powerful and timely reminder of an incredible life of sacrifice that was spent for Jesus rather than things that fade. This little booklet prompted deep reflection on my life’s priorities.

Eric Liddell ran the race of his life in the 1924 Olympics; but one hundred years later, it’s the race of life he ran with his faith in God that makes his story even more extraordinary. This booklet will help many people discover how they can also run the race of their lives.
